There’s a whole host of things that can be called ‘vape juice’ – and the flavours you can choose to enjoy are endless! All vape liquid (sometimes known as e-liquid or ejuice) is made from a combination of ingredients, including nicotine, water and a choice of either Propylene Glycol (PG) or Vegetable Glycerin (VG) liquid. The difference between the two is that VG is derived from vegetable oil and can be labelled as organic. PG on the other hand is synthetic, and used in many everyday items like makeup and toothpaste.
It’s also worth noting that all e-liquid sold in the UK must be TPD compliant. This means that they must be in 10ml bottles, and all the warnings and ingredients must be clearly displayed.
Nicotine
The main ingredient in all e-liquids is nicotine, which is the addictive part of cigarettes. It’s added to e-liquid to stop the cravings you might experience when you’re trying to quit smoking. It’s available in strengths from zero nicotine all the way up to 2.0% and most people start with 1.0% – 2.0% when they’re first starting out, before gradually reducing to 0% once they have switched completely.
